Veneers are a thin shell of tooth-coloured material which covers the front surface of the tooth and can be crafted from composite or made out of porcelain.
What are Veneers used for?
At Eccleshill Dental we use a range of different materials and techniques which are influenced by cost and durability of the veneer. We assess the most suitable option based on the condition of your existing teeth and work with you to provide the most appropriate solution.
Laboratory made Porcelain Veneers
An impression of the prepared tooth is taken and then sent to the laboratory to be produced by highly skilled technicians. The technicians then hand craft the veneers to suit your smile’s contour, character and colour perfectly resulting in an amazingly natural look. The thin, porcelain veneer is bonded onto the surface of your tooth and is extremely durable. You can expect your veneer to last for years if cared for properly.
Direct Composite Resin Veneers
Composite material is applied directly to the tooth and is crafted by the dentist whilst you are in the chair. Results are rapid, only requiring one visit however, the long term quality and finish of the material is not as good and durable as the porcelain veneers described above.
